Get the Nose You Wanted the First Time
At the Storch Plastic Surgery Facility, we see many patients that are dissatisfied or unhappy with their previously done rhinoplasty procedure done elsewhere. There are many reasons people are not happy with their original rhinoplasty procedure. Whether they feel the nose is still too large, or just misshapen, or crooked, Dr. Michael Storch’s skill and technique may be able to help correct, improve, and refine the nose.
Revision rhinoplasty, or secondary rhinoplasty, is a frequently performed procedure at our Aventura practice and results in many very happy and satisfied patients.
Unforeseen Challenges
Revision rhinoplasty procedures can frequently be more difficult to perform than primary, or standard, rhinoplasty. The septum, the cartilage framework of the nose, and the bones may have been altered or partially removed by the previous surgeon. There may be thickening, or scarring interfering with Dr. Storch’s ability to shape the anatomy into the desired form. If the patient’s airway has been restricted, the revision rhinoplasty procedure may also be more difficult and challenging than first anticipated. These conditions may require grafting procedures, possibly using cartilage from the septum, or even the ear. During the initial consultation, Dr. Storch will carefully examine your nose and review your case with you. Together, you and Dr. Storch will be able to determine whether you are indeed a candidate for revision rhinoplasty and what might be involved.
