At the Storch Plastic Surgery Facility we strive to educate our patients on the recovery process and we attempt to provide realistic expectations for results. Our facelift patients are no different, and we make sure to educate each of them on facelift recovery and anticipated results at our Aventura practice. Dr. Michael Storch has over 30 years of experience performing facelift surgery for our patients in the Miami area. While the final, maximal results from the facelift surgery may not be visible for several weeks, or several months, almost immediately after the bandages are removed, most patient can see obvious improvement in the areas treated, With help from Dr. Storch and our Aventura staff, our patients are routinely extremely satisfied with the improvements that have been obtained even early on after the surgical date.
Facelift Recovery in Aventura
Due to the nature of facelift surgery, facelift recovery at our Aventura practice can take a bit longer than some other plastic surgery procedures. During facelift surgery, incisions must be made around the face and hairline in order to access, tighten, and in some cases remove the deeper tissues underneath. Due to the extensive nature of the procedure and the condition of the patient, facelift recovery at our Aventura practice may take a bit longer than other plastic surgery procedures. Each of our patients has the option of an outpatient procedure or recovering overnight at the Aventura Storch Plastic Surgery Facility, or at the Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, which is next door to our medical office building and facility.
After any plastic surgery procedure it is completely natural for there to be bruising and swelling. Following facelift surgery the patient’s head will be loosely bandaged in an attempt to reduce bruising and swelling. As with other plastic surgery procedures, during facelift recovery at our Aventura practice, you may experience some pain. Dr. Storch will prescribe pain medication and monitor your condition; our goal is to make all of our patients as comfortable and safe as possible.
Once you have returned home the facelift recovery is still not yet complete. For several weeks following facelift surgery you may experience some feelings of tightness and numbness, as well as some swelling, bruising, and skin discoloration. While complete facelift recovery and healing can take several months, the initial results will generally become visibly apparent in as little as a few days, once the swelling and bruising begin to subside. Most of our patients are able to return to work within ten days to two weeks following the facelift surgery.
